>Environment:
        System      : OpenBSD 4.9
        Details     : OpenBSD 4.9-beta (GENERIC.MP) #6: Sun Feb 13 14:43:25 EST 2011
                         [hidden email]:/usr/src/sys/arch/macppc/compile/GENERIC.MP

        Architecture: OpenBSD.macppc
        Machine     : macppc
>Description:
X starts and runs nicely on macppc, but when exiting, there is
no text console, just a blank screen.  Console appears to try
to work, as one can blindly type commands and things work
including "startx", which brings X back up nicely), but nothing
        is visible.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install OpenBSD w/X.  This machine required no configuration
for X to work with accelerated ATI driver.
Problem has been seen on numerous ATI-based macs for some time
including this dual G4 and G3-based iMacs.
>Fix:
Workaround: xdm (never exit X!), or reboot by SSH or blind typing.

Happens on sparc64 too.  In fact I'm sure this will happen on anything
that isn't i386/amd64.  This really is a bug in the Xorg
xf86-video-ati driver.  Please report this upstream.
