this is not a typo.

i know of at least two methods to swap on a diskless boot. the one
documented in diskless(8) puts the swap file outside the root
filesystem, but still requires an empty /swap directory.

i don't buy it -- i need to know what it is that depends on root/swap

root filesystems on disk don't need a /swap, so I don't know why Miod
would think so
