brief rundown of my mac mini + 20" cinema install

Julian Fondren
1. Yes, the console scrolls horribly slowly.  It did the same on the
G3, IIRC.  There are tricks, here, such as using vi instead of less to
read documents, and untarring things without verboseness.  The
ultimate solution is to not use the console.

2. Read /usr/X11R6/README .  Not reading it cost me twelve straight
hours of hair-ripping frustration.  You can't use X without doing as
this file says.

3. I couldn't get my 'Mighty Mouse' to scroll horizontally, and after
a while just switched to a normal wheel'd mouse.  Has anyone gotten
this to work well?

4. I have 1680x1050 with 24-bit color; with (...xvidtune...) 78.48
hsync and 72.00 vsync.

Relevant portion of my xorg.conf for the last:

Thanks, Julien, Mike will be glad to know that it isn't just him.

I wonder what it is.
