Maybe this is an idle experiment, but I added a couple lines to my
bsd.port.mk that finds the most recently modified file in $WRKDIR after
the extract target. Unless someone zeroed or spoofed the timestamp, this
tells us when the actual source we're using was last modified. I'm
assuming there are archive formats that don't preserve this information,
but the common ones do.
Below is a list of ports sorted alphabetically alongside the year of
their newest file. I'll follow with a list sorted by year.
The point of this is to identify ports in categories like mail, net, and
www that are 10+ years old. These are likely to be dangerously out of
