I changed machdep.allowaperture to 2 after 1 and my blank screen did not
seen. BTW, I connect other monitor to my notebook VGA port and see that the XDM was loaded truely! But now how can I get the XDM login screen on my notebook LCD (Not on VGA port)? I configured xorg.conf.new and then copy it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
(With 2 new insert, *DefaultDepth 24 *and *Modes "1280x1024"*) But still : *(EE) NV(0): No valid initial configuration found* How Resolve that? Disable xdm and use xinit or startx. 2. Unplug the external monitor. 3. Delete the xorg.conf file - like I've mentioned before, you'll probably won't get anything beyond VESA/SVGA (800x600). 4. machdep.allowaperture has four possible settings - 0-3. Have you tried them all? 5. Send your dmesg, please. Raf |

Yes, Ofcourse reading FAQ pages will resolve most of Issues But I tried
more than ten times to review X11 FAQ pages and it was not clearly step by step installing guidence. Why OpenBSD did not collect these FAQ pages into one PDF under OpenBSD Handbook(such as http://www.openbsd.org/faq/obsd-faq.txt) with release date? Regards. Hi again,
I have re-installed OpenBSD without xdm installing at first installing boot. Then I downloaded " http://firmware.openbsd.org/firmware/5.7/radeondrm-firmware-20131002p0.tgz" and extracted it to /etc/firmware. Then run fw_update -a and I saw my new firmwares have installed correctly. At now I installed vifm and see that vifm mesasge me: "Vifm requires a console that can support color." and exit! BTW: I have not resolved the last issue about X and maybe this new issue relay to my last Xorg issue. How can I (at least) install the vifm and then Xorg? Can any one installing OpenBSD on the notebook?!
