$ cat recoll/pkg/DESCR
Recoll is a full text search application. Full text search applications
let you find your data by content rather than by external attributes
(like a file name). More specifically, they will let you specify words
(terms) that should or should not appear in the text you are looking
for, and return a list of matching documents, ordered so that the most
relevant documents will appear first.
Recoll stores all internal data in Unicode UTF-8 format, and it can
index files with different character sets, encodings, and languages into
the same index. It has input filters for many document types.
$ cat xapian-core/pkg/DESCR
Xapian is an Open Source Search Engine Library, released under the GPL.
It's written in C++, with bindings to allow use from Perl, Python, PHP,
Java, Tcl, C#, and Ruby (so far!)
Xapian is a highly adaptable toolkit which allows developers to easily
add advanced indexing and search facilities to their own applications.
It supports the Probabilistic Information Retrieval model and also
supports a rich set of boolean query operators.
one note about recoll, i had a problem with WANTLIB with some deps so
they are commented for now.
recoll could use multiple tool to index files. they only are optionable
running deps so i didn't put them in RUN_DEPENDS.
i've only tested it in text mode (with recollq)
xapian is not the latest (0.9.10 vs 1.0.0) as i didn't manage to get it
compile for now
