2. What environment is used to compile sources for binary?
3. Can I get sources for free? Where?

Somewhere around a Gigabyte, but that depends on whether you are
including packages

Snapshots are compiled on machines in theo's basement on their intended
architectures (sparc compiled on a Sparc system, i386 compiled on an
i386 system, etc..)

The source code is available from http, fp, or rsync servers and from mail
order.
Try going on http://www.openbsd.org and look at the left side for getting
openbsd.
The architectures used for making the source are available in the list.
